The Vivekananda flyover which was under construction since 2009 collapsed in the Girish Park area of Kolkata. The death toll from the unfortunate incident was confirmed at 15 while 78 have been injured.

The portion of the flyover which collapsed was constructed 8-10 months ago.

Several vehicles and individuals are believed to be trapped under the debris. Two units of National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) are being rushed near Ganesh Talkies in Girish Park area of North Kolkata where the Vivekananda flyover collapsed.
