Arnold Palmer, one of golf’s greatest players whose immense popularity drew a legion of fans known as ‘Arnie’s Army’, passed away on Sunday aged 87 in Pittsburgh, near his hometown Latrobe, Pennsylvania. His hard-charging style, incomparable charisma and a personal touch that made him known as ‘The King’ in the golfing world.

The first golfer to reach $1 million in career earnings, Palmer won seven major championships, including four Master.
