15 August 1947 marked the independence of India from about 200 years of colonial rule. As 2019 marks 73 years since the UK Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act of 1947, transferring legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly, here’s a look at how people across the country are preparing to celebrate 73 years of freedom:
