Las Vegas, as usual, was buzzing with life and music and people from different walks of life. But that was before an active shooter shook the Vegas strip, causing death and devastation all around.
A gunman, now identified as a local resident called Stephen Paddock, fired at the crowd in an outdoor music concert in Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Casino area. Suddenly frenzied and panic stricken, people were running in all directions, reaching out to each other, and scrounging desperately for cover.
Damage to life is always coupled with emotional trauma. However, it was heartening to see people reaching out to help victims of the shooting incident.
The gunman was shot dead by the police. He was a white, male resident of Las Vegas.
Our thoughts lie with the victims of the attack.
