Almost a day after the train accident that claimed at least 60 lives near Jora Phatak in Amritsar, Punjab, residents of the city are are yet to come to terms with the horrific tragedy. The accident took place during Dusshera celebrations at a ground adjacent to the railway tracks.

Following the tragic accident, state Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh along with Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu visited the survivors and families of the victims at a district hospital on Saturday. The CM stated that an inquiry has been set up to probe the accident.

People in large numbers had gathered at the site of the incident and the hospital while many attended the mass funeral progression.
