In a unique demonstration urging Britain to remain a part of the European Union, people gathered outside the parliament in London on Sunday to start “kiss chain.”

Over 400 people got together in London, sharing kisses with each other, symbolising the love between Britain and Europe.

They were joined by others across Europe including from Berlin, Paris and Rome.

A statement from organising campaign group Avaaz said that the aim of the event was “to show love is strong between Britain and Europe and to reject hate campaigning ahead of the EU referendum.”

“A vote for Remain is a vote for love, tolerance and unity in our diversity,” commented Alice Jay, Avaaz campaign director in a statement.
