President Barack Obama, on Thursday, fixed the cracked relationship with Canada by hosting a lavish White House Welcome for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family.
Trudeau, 44, the left-leaning Liberal Party leader and son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, was elected Prime Minister last November.
Obama raved about Justin being a man after his own heart. “He campaigned on a message of hope and of change. His positive and optimistic vision is inspiring young people. So, from my perspective, what’s not to like?”
Let’s see how ‘Trudeaumania’ unfolded since the Canadian family’s arrival in Washington.
Michael J Fox, Mike Myers, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Sandra Oh and The Weeknd were a few celebrities that made it to this historical night.
Just kidding, but Ryan Reynolds here looks like he’s having a fangirl moment and we’re sure he won’t deny it.
This definitely looks like what Sandra Oh is emoting through this heartfelt hug.
Who’s got the power now? A white-haired Mike Myers attended the night with his wife Kelly Tisdale.
We bet that what The Weeknd thought when he met the charming Canadian Prime Minister.
A picture perfect family? PM Trudeau’s children meet the Obamas.
Secretary of State John Kerry raises a toast to welcome Prime Minister Justin to the US.
Sarah Bareilles performed with the ‘Children of Gospel’ girls Thursday evening, at The White House State Dinner to welcome Canada’s Prime Minster and his wife.
This should be on his resume, because he seems to have won the hearts of millions of people all over the world.
Yes, PM Justin was talking to someone when he got distracted by President Obama holding a cute baby.
How cute is this? America’s First Lady Michelle Obama and Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, wife of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, look like they’ve been best friends for as long as they can remember.
President Obama goofed around with Prime Minister Trudeau about how Canada and America cannot see eye-to-eye on certain matters such as:
And when PM Trudeau shook his head and said, “don’t get me started”. President Obama with a smirk on his face asked, “Where is the Stanley Cup right now? I’m sorry, is it in my hometown with the Chicago Blackhawks?”
Only good friends would talk to each other like that.
