Swedish police have arrested a second person in relation to the deadly truck attack in the capital and a court has appointed the person a legal representative, a court official said on Sunday. "Police have arrested a person and we have appointed a public defender," Helga Hullmann, judge at the Stockholm District Court said.
She said lawyer Johan Akerman was the legal council appointed.
Swedish police are increasingly confident they have caught the man responsible for a truck attack in the capital Stockholm on Friday, but would not rule out the possibility that other people had been involved.
Swedish National Police Chief Dan Eliasson has informed that the 39-year-old arrested hails from Uzbekistan.
He has previously figured in intelligence material, Swedish security police also said on Saturday.
“The arrested man was not part of any of the security police's ongoing investigations. However, he is a person who has previously figured in our intelligence flow,” head of the Sapo security police, Anders Thornberg, told reporters.
Swedish police said on Saturday they were examining a device found in the driver's seat of the truck used in the attack in Stockholm which killed four and injured more than a dozen.
“Whether it is a classic bomb or a fire device or something else is subject to technical analysis,” he said.
The man arrested on Friday in relation to the attack in the centre of Stockholm is suspected of being the driver of the truck that killed four people, police said on Saturday.

"I have a picture of a person who has been seen at the location at this point in time. We want to get in contact with this person," he told a news conference.

Police in Norway's largest cities and at Oslo's airport will be carrying weapons until further notice following the attack in Stockholm on Friday, Norwegian police said in a tweet.
Police officers in Norway, which borders Sweden, do not usually carry guns on them.
In Finland, police increased patrols in the capital Helsinki.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condemned the attack.
Swedish police has ordered the evacuation of the central train station in Stockholm after a truck on Friday drove into a crowd in a nearby pedestrian street, killing and injuring several people, news agency TT reported, citing property owner Jernhusen.
Swedish police earlier told TT three people were confirmed dead in the incident in the centre of the Swedish capital.
Acording to Swedish daily Aftonbladet, Swedish beermaker Spendrups claimed its truck had been carjacked earlier on Friday. Photos showed the beer truck sticking out of the Ahlens department store.
Swedish broadcaster SVT said shots were fired at the scene, although the report hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Swedish police said say they have received calls about a person who has injured others driving a vehicle on the central Stockholm street of Drottninggatan. Police spokeswoman Towe Hagg says people have been injured but she would not confirm the deaths.
