The United Nations has approved a request by Pakistan to allow Jamaat-ul-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed to use his bank account for his family's basic monthly expenses.
In a letter dated 15 August, the United Nations Security Council said the letter is approved and the Chair will instruct will instruct the Secretariat to dispatch it.
According to ANI, the letter to UNSC's 1267 Committee that oversees sanctions, contended that Hafiz Saeed supports a family of four and as the sole breadwinner, he is responsible for the expenses of all family members.
Pakistan pleaded the UNSC to let Saeed withdraw 1,50,000 Pakistani rupees "to cover the necessary basic living expenses for himself and his family."
