Bob Dylan became the first songwriter to win a Nobel Prize in Literature drawing praise on social media.

The Indian music fraternity including composer AR Rahman, Vishal Dadlani hailed the announcement of Bob Dylan’s Nobel Prize win and called it a "proud moment" for all musicians.

Noted lyricist Javed Akhtar welcomed the decision and termed it as a "marvelous and amazing decision" and added that it proves that music can also be a part of literature.

The US President Barack Obama also congratulated Bob Dylan on the Nobel Prize.

Millions of fans worldwide took to various social media platforms to congratulate Dylan.

While there were many who celebrated the singer’s Nobel Prize win, some seemed to be unhappy about it.
