Trevor Noah, the host of The Daily Show (he took over the mantle from John Stewart), is known for his scathing commentary on US president-elect Donald Trump.
In a recent show he hosted with Tomi Lahren – a conservative TV and video show host who “calls sh*t like it is” – Noah called out her hypocrisy every step of the way.
When discussing the comment Trump had made about “grabbing women by the p***y”, Lehran said she wasn’t surprised, but then went on to compare “Trump’s words to Hillary’s actions”. The former, she said, weren’t as bad as the latter.
Lehran said her support was with Trump as he was an outsider to partisan-politics as also someone who could shake things up, without any vested interests.
Noah was quick to remind her that Trump’s vested interests lie in countries like India and Russia.
The 24-year-old Republican was also critical of Obamacare – much like Trump was during his campaign. Here too, Noah pointed out, that Trump himself now favours it, having said that he couldn’t possibly remove the healthcare scheme from the states it exists in.
Lehran stepped on extremely thin ice when she spoke about “Black Lives Matter”. She claimed that she was not a fan of the movement as the protesters turn into rioters and are “bad people” – which led her to label the whole movement ‘bad’.
Noah’s jab to counter her was a statement she had made about Trump saying, “just because he has supporters from KKK doesn’t mean he’s part of the organisation”.
