A Russian military helicopter recently went astray in the war games, firing a rocket at a crowd of onlookers, injuring two, reported the Independent.
A video capturing the freak accident shows two helicopters approach a hill, by which the crowd is stationed. One helicopter abruptly fires a rocket, hitting the side of the mound-like structure, visibly injuring a man nearby.
According to the Independent, local Russian media reports suggested that the two injured persons were journalists, while citing an unnamed Russian military source pinning the accident on a technical glitch.
The Russian news portal 66.ru, while putting up the video also reportedly said that the incident was said to have occurred either on Sunday or on Monday during the Zapad-2017 drills.
However, the Russian government denied that the accident happened when Vladimir Putin visited the games on Monday.
