A 58-year-old man in Sumter County, Florida was bitten and injured by an alligator after his father found it in his property and shot it, reported The Washington Post.
The father Reginald Blanton (74) shot the alligator twice after he spotted it near his cattle, and thought it had died. Later, while the father was standing near the alligator, his son Jackie Hilderth came over to talk to him, and the alligator charged at the son and bit his leg.
The son was rushed to a nearby hospital and was reportedly in a stable condition. The 8-foot 8-inch alligator was struck by a bang stick firearm and killed by alligator trappers.
