In a bizarre and shocking incident of racial discrimination, a black doctor was not allowed to attend to a patient, who later died.

Tamika Cross, an obstetrician and gynecologist from Houston, later took to Facebook to speak about the appalling incident.

Cross was on a Delta flight when a passenger a few rows ahead of her started screaming because her husband had become unresponsive. Cross immediately raised her hand after a flight attendant asked if there was a physician on board.

The attendant then told her, “Oh no, sweetie put your hand down, we are looking for actual physicians or nurses or some type of medical personnel, we don’t have time to talk to you (sic).”

Though Cross tried to inform her that she's a physician, she was "continually cut-off by condescending remarks".

While the patient continued to suffer, she was asked to show her “credentials” and was bombarded with questions.

She further writes in her post:

Another “seasoned” white male approaches the row and says he is a physician as well. She says to me “thanks for your help but he can help us, and he has his credentials”. (Mind you he hasn’t shown anything to her. Just showed up and fit the “description of a doctor”) I stay seated. Mind blown. Blood boiling. (Man is responding to his questions and is seemingly better now Thank God) (sic)
