Sanctions To Remain Till Final Denuclearisation Of N Korea: Pompeo

Pompeo said while some security guarantees will be made to North Korea, removal of sanctions was off the table.

US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, has said that sanctions on North Korea will remain in place until “final” denuclearisation is carried out by Pyongang.

"Sanctions will remain in place until final, fully verified denuclearisation as agreed to by Chairman Kim (Jong Un) occurs," Pompeo said, Tokyo after talks with Japan and Korea, reported AFP.

On Friday, 6 July 2018, Pompeo held more than eight hours of talks with North Korean officials in Pyongyang following a rudimentary deal made between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un last month.

However, following Pompeo’s departure from North Korea, the state issued a nasty statement rejecting what it described as the USA’s “gangster-like” demand for rapid nuclear disarmament.

If those requests were gangster-like, the world is a gangster, because there was a unanimous decision at the UN Security Council about what needs to be achieved.
