Melania Trump comes through as a devoted wife, believing her husband can do no wrong as she defended Donald Trump, saying he was “egged on” into “boy talk”, in the tape which surfaced where he made comments about sexual assault against women.
On Monday night, she gave an interview to CNN’s Anderson Cooper calling the accusations against Trump “lies”.
Melania Trump said that she was surprised when she heard the comments as “this is not the man I know”:
She said that in the tape, only the mic is on, not the video, claiming that Trump might not have even known about the mic. Melania further went on to say that her husband was led on by Billy Bush.
Melania said that she had heard many boys talk while they were growing up, “they want to sometimes show each other ‘oh this and that’ and talking about girls.”
However, she agreed with Michelle Obama who said that grabbing or kissing a woman without her consent amounts to sexual assault.
Melania Trump further went on to say that her husband respects women but he is defending himself against allegations because they are “false”.
She also referred to her husband as an “overgrown boy”, albeit as a joke, and said that the released tapes were demonstrative of that.
Also in his defence, Melania Trump said that her husband is “real, raw, kind and a gentleman” who “tells it like it is”.
