The woman in Stan Honda’s iconic picture portraying the immediate effect of twin tower collapse – the lady covered in dust– has passed away.

42-year-old Marcy Borders had been suffering from cancer.

Borders’s family member first announced her death on Facebook.

Macry had recently uploaded her picture on Facebook.

Marcy Borders worked on the North Tower on the 81st floor.

When I inhaled, my mouth just filled up with it (dust). I was choking. I couldn’t see my hands in front of my face.

The twin towers collapsed on the fateful Tuesday of September 11, 2001, as part of a four-way attack by terror group al-Qaeda, headed and planned by Osama Bin Laden.

According to a report on CNN, the terrorist attack killed 2,977 people that day in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
