The repatriation of remains of US soldiers killed in the 1950-53 Korean War was one of the agreements reached during an unprecedented summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore on 12 June.

Two children, aged four and six, were killed and three others injured when the roof of a house collapsed after heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district, reported PTI.

A Manila-bound Philippines Airlines flight was diverted to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad early on Friday, 27 July, due to a medical emergency, sources said.
A woman passenger complained of breathing problem on board the aircraft and the pilot sought permission to land at the airport here, the sources added.
After landing, doctors at the airport treated her and declared her fit to fly, they said, adding that the Riyadh-Manila plane then took off to the Philippines.

The alleged kingpin of a racket involved in selling of bogus cotton seeds has been arrested along with his associate, police have said.
According to Investigating Officer API Nandkishor Aayare, the racket came to light when Local Crime Branch sleuths nabbed two persons carrying bogus cotton seed packets on 25 June.
The duo, Nagorao Gautre, a resident of Sankatmochen area ehre, and Kawadu Banghate, a resident of Khamgaon, gave the name of the proprietor of the Krushi Kendra from where they had collected the bogus cotton seeds, he said.
Based on their information, police arrested Shaym Deshpande (59), the Krushi Kendra proprietor, and his associate Rushikesh More, a resident of Dhamangaon Railway in Amravati district.

The superintendents of police (SPs) in 24 districts of the state will be appointed as nodal officers for monitoring social media content and checking incidents of mob lynching, a top officer said on Friday, 27 July.
The move comes two days after the Centre, in its bid to curb incidents of mob violence, asked the states and Union territories to appoint a SP-level nodal officer in each district for gathering intelligence.
Additional Director General of Police R K Malik said the deputy superintendents of police will be assisting the SPs in the endeavour.

The National Green Tribunal on Friday, 27 July ordered an environment audit of the premier Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi within a month.
A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel directed the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to inspect the institute and submit a report on management of waste at IHBAS.

A five storey building has collapsed in Ghaziabad's Khoda area. Many are feared trapped under debris.
The collapse comes days after a five-storey under-construction building collapsed in the Akash Nagar area in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Sunday, 22 July, killing two people and injuring at least eight others.

The National Green Tribunal has said the water of the Ganga, between Haridwar and Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, was unfit for drinking and bathing, and expressed anguish over the situation.
The green panel said that innocent people drank and bathed in the river with reverence, without knowing that it may adversely affect their health.
The panel directed National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) to install display boards at a gap of 100 kilometres, indicating whether the water was fit for bathing or drinking.

The agitation over North Karnataka took a political turn on Friday, with BJP MLA B Sriramulu, a mass leader from Ballari, warning the chief minister to correct regional imbalance or else he would lead a movement for a separate north Karnataka state.
"If CM doesn't mend his ways I will be compelled to lead a movement for a separate state" he said reminding people of Telangana movement which saw success recently in carving out a separate state out of Andhra Pradesh.
The statement comes in the wake of protests by leaders from North Karnataka including Congress over the budget presented by H D Kumaraswamy. The budget leaders allege is skewed towards Mandya, Ramanagara and Hassan, strongholds of JDS.
