Just days after the Swedish Committee conferred the Nobel Prize in Literature onto Bob Dylan, they have said that they are not contacting him anymore, as reported by The Guardian.

The 75-year-old has not acknowledged the award yet, even though the day of the announcement, he performed for a crowd in Las Vegas.

Sara Danius, the academy’s permanent secretary has said that they are doing nothing to get in touch with Dylan currently.

I have called and sent emails to his closest collaborator and received very friendly replies. For now, that is certainly enough.

Every year on 10 December, the awardees are invited to Stockholm to receive their award from King Carl XVI Gustaf. Since Dylan has a reputation of being pervasive, it’s not known yet if he will attend the event or even acknowledge his win.

Dylan winning the Nobel Prize for Literature has stirred up a controversy, stating his work has not been at par with those of his peers, and there are more prolific writers who deserved the honour. Yet there were some authors who were supportive of the win.
