The Vietnamese woman, arrested as a suspect in killing the half-brother of North Korea's leader, thought she was taking part in a prank video for $90, Vietnam's foreign ministry said on Saturday.

Hanoi had not previously confirmed that Doan Thi Huong was Vietnamese, only saying that it was in touch with authorities in Malaysia, where Kim Jong Nam was murdered on 13 February.

Vietnamese embassy officials met Huong on Saturday.

Her health is stable. During the meeting with embassy officials, Doan Thi Huong said she was being taken advantage of and thought she was starring in a comedy video.

The other woman arrested over the attack, an Indonesian, also thought she was taking part in a prank.

Indonesian embassy officials met the other suspect, Siti Aishah, and she also told them she had thought she was part of a reality television show.

The estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was killed at Kuala Lumpur international airport using VX nerve agent, Malaysian police said.

Doan Thi Huong is among the two women arrested for the 13 February airport attack on Kim Jong Nam, which Malaysian police say was carried out with the banned chemical weapon VX nerve agent.
