The suspect in the Houston mass shooting on Sunday has been identified as a 25-year-old former soldier who had served in Afghanistan. Two persons were killed, including the suspect, and six others were injured.
Dionisio Garza III, the shooter who was killed by a SWAT officer, had recently expressed anti-government sentiments. His motives have still not been ascertained.
A second man, who the police initially thought was another suspect has been identified as Byron Wilson. He was in fact trying to fight back, and was critically injured by Garza in the showdown. He is, however, expected to survive. Officials say the neighbourhood is now secure and the shelter in-place has been lifted.
