Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for the US Presidency, has often been called out by her detractors for coming across as unemotional and cold. So what better way to offset this than by showing up on one of the warmest, fuzziest New York City-based social media accounts? Yup, Humans of New York (HONY) featured Hillary Clinton, and she talked about how a lifetime of dealing with sexism has led her to shut down in response.

The criticism becomes amplified in the face of the sexism she receives as potentially the first woman President of the United States of America. But that ‘cold’, ‘aloof’ exterior is one of the reasons that many present for her high negative ratings in the run-up to the 2016 US presidential elections.

So, sorry if she can’t smile all the time and be the chirpy, desirable female candidate her critics want, but she’s too busy making sure her presentation isn’t as passionate as her male counterparts’ because that would come “across as ‘too loud’ or ‘too shrill’ or ‘too this’ or too that’.” We wonder if men like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama had to smile and tone down their passion? We know Donald Trump doesn’t.

Slay on, Hillary Clinton.
