Ever since Donald Trump’s comments on sexually assaulting women, many of his women supporters have jumped ship. But some women still love the Republican nominee. Here’s how they defended his statements:

Sarah Palin

Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin has been a strong supporter of Trump since the beginning. And she wasn’t disconcerted by Trump’s comments that he could “grab women by the pussy” because he is famous.

Scottie Nell Hughes

Scottie Nell Hughes is a journalist who takes it upon herself to vehemently defend Trump. Though she didn’t really like Trump’s comments, she still managed to twist the situation. For her, it is a true testament to Trump’s desire to make America great again.

Toni Holt Kramer

Toni Holt Kramer, a socialite who organised ‘The Trumpettes,’ a group of rich women who support the Donald. The ladies said “boys will be boys,’ and Kramer went for a deflective comment, alluding to Bill Clinton’s sexcapades.

Michele Bachmann

Republican Politician Michele Bachmann has also stuck to her guns. In defence of Trump, she said the public would rather hear about more important things, like the “disaster” and “tragedy” of Obamacare and the Syrian war.

Funny how the fact that in the US one in four or five women has been sexually assaulted at least once in her life doesn’t seem like a tragedy...

Though Trump’s poll numbers dropped after his tapes were leaked, his Twitter followers are still going strong.

But for the most part, Trump is not doing a good job of attracting women voters. An analysis by statistician Nate Silver found that if only women voted during the US election, Hillary Clinton would win by a landslide.

The reverse was true for men.

These maps triggered a flood of tweets calling to repeal the 19th amendment to the US Constitution, which gave women the right to vote.

Even some women joined in.

Luckily, there was a lot of pushback to the sexist proposition.
