Reporter Alison Parker, 24, and videographer Adam Ward, 27, were in the middle of a live television broadcast for WDBJ-7 news in Virginia early Wednesday morning when they were shot point-blank with a handgun.

AJ+ has compiled this moving video with photographs of the two slain journalists.

Co-workers at WDBJ7 and loved ones remembered the pair as two “bright stars” in a newsroom where they had been working together for more than a year.

Families, friends and colleagues came together to light candles in memory of the victims.

The shooter, identified as Vester Lee Flanagan, a disgruntled former employee of the station, shot himself after crashing his car on Interstate 66 during a police chase, WDBJ reported.

Vester later died in hospital.

WDBJ anchor, and Parker’s boyfriend Chris Hurst tweeted a moving tribute for her. Hurst was in a six-month relationship with her.

Devastated after the incident, he says they were private people, but he wanted to share the scrapbook as a way to celebrate their relationship.

A third victim, Vicki Gardner, who was being interviewed by Parker when the shooting happened, is reportedly in stable condition, WDBJ7 confirmed on Facebook.
