Melania Trump is just an “object” to her husband, President Donald Trump, as has been noted by a body language expert who scrutinized the inauguration of the President.
Many observers have remarked on how the relationship between the President and his wife is cold, in comparison with former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, as reported by Mic.
The observed animosity and discomfort between the two was evident from the very first photo snapped of the two, taken as they stepped out of their car to greet the Obamas.
Donald walked forward to greet them, leaving Melania a few strides behind. She was warmly welcomed by them, who then ushered her in when her husband continued to march forward.
Body language experts have said that this could be an indicator of an unhappy marriage.
Another body language expert, Susan Constantine had this to say:
There were several moments of affection between the Obama power couple that were shown to the world during the inauguration.
As Michelle appeared by Barack’s side, he instinctively took her hand and kissed it, while Melania and Trump only exchanged a cursory nod to one another.
Constantine is of the view that the Obamas’ body language displays a much stronger bond.
Even at the inaugural dance, Melania had her face away from her husband, who was leaning toward her, “pulling her sexually” and touching his pelvis to hers.
Also, Melania held her fingers out straight when they held hands to dance, a small indicator to demonstrate a lack of affection, as Wood said.
The image of the Trumps and Obamas together went viral where the latter were being affectionate with each other while the former were standing together with minimal contact.
But, eight years ago, the Obamas also had a stoic stance when the then-outgoing president Bush and his wife were standing together affectionately.
However, analysis of Trump’s body language is important as he has been accused of sexually assaulting several women, as vowed to defund Planned Parenthood and has already put a legislation which will defund NGOs who wish to provide abortion counselling abroad.
It shows that he doesn’t care about the women, neither in the country and nor in his own family. It has definitely sparked debate on whether he shares an abusive relationship with his wife.
