After US President Donald Trump’s son Barron was bullied online, the 36-year-old daughter of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton tweeted in defence of the 10-year-old.
“Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does – to be a kid,” Chelsea tweeted. However, she also took a dig at Trump in the same tweet, adding that “we should oppose POTUS policies that hurt kids”.
Jokes about Barron made the rounds online after he was seen at Trump’s inauguration on Friday. Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich tweet-bullied the child, but later deactivated her Twitter account after people were enraged by her comment.
Modern Family actress Julie Bowen also trolled Barron, posting photos poking fun at him.
In response to the online digs at Barron, others netizens spoke up to defend him.
