After facing opposition by British MPs led by the Commons Speaker John Bercow, the British government decided to cancel the plan of Donald Trump addressing the joint Houses of Parliament, during his stay in Britain on a state visit which is due later this year.
Bercow said on Monday he would not support any plans for US President Donald citing Trump's temporary immigration ban as a factor.
Trump’s itinerary for his visit is being planned at a time when the parliament is not sitting so that the British government can avoid having Trump address the joint Houses of Parliament formally, The Guardian reported.
The US President may visit the country in late summer or early autumn this year. Presently, the government, Buckingham Palace and the White House is discussing a weekend visit for Trump at the end of August or September.
The Parliament will be on a break until 5 September and then it will adjourn again on 15 September for the party conferences.
