Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May on Sunday, 6 January, said that if the parliament rejects the Brexit deal later this month, Britain will be in uncharted territory, as reported by Reuters.

On 29 March, Britain is scheduled to leave the European Union. The situation for the business leaders and investors has been alarming as May is unable to get her deal for a managed exit through the parliament, which will mean a no-deal Brexit.

Earlier it was reported by agencies that May could delay the vote, but the Britain’s prime minister rubbished the reports and said that the vote will likely take place around 15 January.

In an interview, May told BBC, "We're going to be in uncharted territory. I don't think anybody can say exactly what will happen in terms of the reaction we'll see in parliament."

In December, May had already delayed the vote once when she saw she would lose unless extra reassurance from the EU was given.

Britain’s next step is uncertain as it is not clear whether they will leave without a deal or not at all. However, a poll showed that more Britons want to remain in the EU.

As far as May's party is concerned, the vote on her deal stands divided, as many fear that an insurance policy designed to avoid re-emergence of a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland could leave Britain subject to EU rules indefinitely, as reported by Reuters.

May said, "Don't let the search for the perfect become the enemy of the good, because the danger there is actually we end up with no Brexit deal."
