A baby dolphin died after a group of tourists passed it around the beach for selfies.

According to The Sun, tourists clamoured upon seeing the dolphin and paraded it across the beach to take selfies. Sadly, the thick fatty skin of dolphin overheated quickly which lead to its death.

This photo shows a swarm of tourists approaching towards the dolphin to get a selfie clicked with it.

A Youtube video later surfaced as a person carried the dead dolphin away from the crowd.

The episode led the Argentinian Wildlife Foundation to issue a public reminder about the vulnerable La Plata dolphins, which are only found off the coasts of Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.

La Plata dolphins are listed as a “vulnerable” species, with only 30,000 left in the world.

Its conservation is of particular concern because they tend to swim close to the shoreline, where they often become tangled in fishing equipment.
