WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

The visuals are from a clash between Army personnel and the Delhi Police in Delhi's Cantonment Area in February 2018. It is in no way related to the Assam Police and the NRC.

WHAT WE FOUND OUT

A closer look revealed the logo of a Hindi news television channel ‘News Nation’ at the top left corner of the video. At 0:40 in the video, a bystander can also be heard saying, “Delhi mein hua kya tha?” (What happened in Delhi?)

Using the key words ‘Army personnel police clash Delhi,’ we came across a News Nation post from February 2018. Times Now also carried the same story titled ‘ Army jawans clash with Delhi Police personnel.’

According to reports, clashes broke out between Army personnel and the Delhi police in the Cantonment Area on 26 February 2018 when a head constable was stopped by an Army jawan when he reportedly entered a restricted area.

The Army personnel alleged that the constable was drunk and misbehaved with a senior Army officer. However, the Delhi police dismissed the allegations.
