CLAIM
People on social media claim that e-commerce giant, Amazon is selling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ashes.
The post has been shared by many users on Twitter, including a Bahujan Samaj Party activists Devashish Jarariya who criticised the politics that was being played over Vajpayee’s death.
VERDICT: TRUE OR FALSE?
However, there is no truth to this image.
A simple search on Amazon shows that no product by the name of “Atal Ji’s original ashes” is being sold.
Secondly, the Twitter timeline of a user, @YoYoModi1, reveals that the image has been shared multiple times - with sarcastic comments mocking users for believing in it. The user also admits to sharing the fake image in one of the messages.
The message comes along with two images. One image shows the product on Amazon while the other has user reviews.
