The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recorded clear victories in both Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, as the election results of 18 December showed. While the battle for Gujarat was closely fought, the saffron party made a clear comeback in the mountain-state of Himachal, with the anti-incumbency factor kicking in.
