Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath arrived at Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi on Thursday, 6 December to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ANI reported.
While the agenda of the meeting is unclear, it comes in the backdrop of the unrest in UP’s Bulandshahr since Monday, 3 December, after a policeman and a civilian were killed in riots over cow slaughter.
After four accused were arrested on Tuesday, 4 December, another prime accused, Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj was arrested on Thursday in connection with the violence.
Earlier, the family of slain police inspector Subodh Kumar met Adityanath at his Lucknow residence, where he assured them that justice will be done.
Amid political furore, Adityanath on 5 December ordered a thorough probe into the case, and directions were issued for strict action against those involved in the alleged cow slaughter that was said to be the trigger for the brutal incident.
