Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Saturday, 20 April said that workers of one her allies in the opposition gathbandhan, Samajwadi Party, have a "lot to learn from BSP workers".

Speaking at a SP-BSP-RLD rally in Firozabad on Saturday, she said, "The way you people shout in the middle of a speech... I think you should learn something from the Bahujan Samaj Party workers. The Samajwadi workers have a lot to learn.”

According to NDTV, Mayawati is known for her penchant for punctuality and when in Lucknow, she does not encourage the party cadre to gather at her residence or party office. At rallies, she reportedly has groups of party workers ensure that everyone sits in allocated spaces.

On the other hand, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav encourages cadre participation and hundreds of party supporters are encouraged to gather at his party office and raise slogans in his favour, NDTV reported.

At the rally, she also suggested that political parties are manipulating opinion polls in order to mislead voters, reported ANI. "Parties are going all out to create an environment favourable for them by manipulating the media, opinion polls and surveys. Voters should not be misled by these things," she said.
