Assembly elections are around the corner for RK Nagar. The musical chairs to fill That One Seat, that’s been empty for over a year now, is all set to begin. Whoever grabs it will be inevitably compared with Jayalalithaa, whose constituency it was.

But what do the people of RK Nagar really want? And who do they want? We asked, and they answered like a boss!

There are no true AIADMK supporters anymore!

Edappadi (Palanisami), OPS, (TTV) Dhinakaran... none of them are true to the party.

Amma alone was truly AIADMK. She was a lion!

I support AIADMK, not the leaders in it. I ride my cycle, wearing my green-red costume, wherever there is a party rally or wherever campaigning happens.

Look at this sewer running... this should go. There should be no mosquitoes. There should be no garbage. Civic administration should be proper. That’s what I want.

I think TTV Dhinakaran is going to win among the three AIADMK factions this time. All of the party workers locally seem to support him.

Why? Well, EPS and OPS haven’t really done anything, have they? Maybe Dhinakaran will do something.

I think it’s important for the government to really look at what the people need. After the Ockhi cyclone, the fisherfolk are completely agitated. The government has all but ignored them. Id like that to change. AIADMK will be out of power if this continues...

...Which channel are you from?

Whoever comes should do some good to the people. Now no one knows who is going to come next. But I dont think anyone can ever replace Amma. What she has done for us, no one can do, nor is anyone thinking of doing anything for us.

When the rains came, no one was there for us. Many of us lost so much. My entire house was destroyed. We were submerged in waist-deep water. No help came.

Yeah, sure, Ill talk.

Everyone who comes (to politics) is basically in it to loot the people. I think itll be great if they actually do something for the people, and then continue looting. (grins)

When will this come on TV?...Oh! Website, okay.

What can I say? As long as my flowers get sold, Im all right. What do I know of politics?

The toilets should be clean and should function well. We should get water. And power (electricity). That’s all.

How do you want me to pose?
