We’ve seen Shah Rukh Khan dancing with his arms wide open, in front of sunflower fields. Why not in front of a frothy lake that catches fire every now and then? T<i>ujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam</i>, with Bellandur lake in the background! That would be awesome – because it’s slowly becoming a world tourist attraction.

Before you think RJ Sriram has had a drink too many, here’s the clarification. The Quint asked some of Bengaluru’s top RJs to dedicate songs to the city’s biggest election issues. More streetlights! On some nights, after I finish my show at midnight and step out of the office, I feel really scared. Women’s safety is an issue we need to give more attention to. Everybody knows about the New Year’s Eve mass molestation incident. After that, people really started asking, “Oh, is Bangalore really safe?” People would say, “I don’t allow my girl to go out after 7 because our street is so dark.”

Reduce Pressure on Bengaluru, Maybe?

Yes, traffic is very much of an urban problem in Bengaluru. But it raises the question of smart cities. Why are we concentrating development only in one particular city? Why not have mixed development across the entire state of Karnataka? More smart cities in the state would mean lesser pressure on Bengaluru, right?
