BJP chief Amit Shah addressing the media on Friday, took on Rahul Gandhi for his “Khoon ki dalali” comment made on Thursday. He also expressed strong disappointment over political parties raising questions on the veracity of the surgical strike.
He added that such questions demean the Army's success and are a clear attempt at politicising the issue. However, he said that the BJP has done its best to not politicise the issue.
Elaborating on his statement, he said that the BJP did not try to take credit for the surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) and that it was the Army that declared information of the successful strikes through its channels.
Hitting out at Rahul Gandhi for his “Khoon Ki Dalali” statement, he asked Gandhi if “dalali is a word that should be used to refer to the Indian Army and their efforts to save the country?”
Earlier on Thursday, Congress Vice-President, Rahul Gandhi in a controversial statement had accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using the blood of the soldiers and doing ‘dalali’ over their sacrifice.
Congress member Kapil Sibal countered Shah by alluding to his time in jail under murder charges.
Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad dismissed him saying comments like Sibal’s only help with increasing BJP’s voter base:
