Dharmendra Condoles Amma

I’m deeply saddened by her demise. We did a film together, shot for a month in Manali. Those memories are playing in front of me like a film now. Her mother was also there when we went on the outdoor. She would cook for us, feed us. We hadn’t met in several years. Whenever I went back to Chennai, I thought I would meet her. But she became busy in her work and I didn’t want to disturb her. I hope she rests in peace.

She was not that powerful or imposing then. It was a black and white photo. I framed her looking through the hole in the saree. Then I went back to office.

In the popular imagination, there is no one who can lay claim to her position in the party.
