After the Delhi High Court dismissed Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP (RV)) president Chirag Paswan's plea against his eviction from 12 Janpath in Delhi, visuals of the erstwhile Paswan residence captured the leaders' home being emptied out, with his personal belongings laying on the street.
“This is not your party headquarters...move out. The process has already commenced,” Justice Yashwant Varma had observed on Thursday, 31 March, The Hindu reported.
On Wednesday, the Directorate of Estates had sent an eviction team to the 12 Janpath Road bungalow of Lok Sabha MP and son of ex-Union minister late Ram Vilas Paswan.
Paswan's belongings are being removed from the house premises, which had been allotted to his late father, per news agency PTI. The LJP (RV) president had been asked to vacate the bungalow previously, a year after Ram Vilas Paswan's death in 2020.
The bungalow in question is two houses away from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's residence, and was being used as the official ground for events and meetings for LJP (RV) in Delhi.
A Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry team was sent to execute the order of eviction of Chirag Paswan and other residents from the 12 Janpath Road bungalow.
