Unnao Murder Case: Delhi Court Defers Judgment to Wednesday

A Delhi court on Saturday deferred to next week its judgment in the murder case of the father of the woman who was raped by expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar in Uttar Pradesh' Unnao three years ago.

The rape survivor's had father died on April 9, 2018, in judicial custody.

District judge Dharmesh Sharma deferred the judgment, which will now be pronounced on Wednesday.

The court had on December 20 sent Sengar to jail for "remainder of his natural biological life" for raping the woman in 2017 when she was a minor.

Airtel Deposits Rs 8,004 Cr Gross Revenue Dues to Govt

Bharti Airtel deposited an additional Rs 8,004 crore towards adjusted gross revenue dues, to the telecom department, reported ANI.

On 17 February, the company had deposited Rs 10,000 crore aggregating to a total payment of Rs 18,004 crore now complied with AGR judgment and directions of Supreme Court.

Bus Runs Over Boy in UP, Driver Thrashed

A 16-year-old boy, a wedding party member, was fatally struck by a bus in Khai Kheda village here following which locals allegedly beat up the driver and damaged the vehicle, police said on Saturday, 29 February.

The boy, identified as Monu, was killed in the accident that took place in an area under the Kakrauli police station limits on Friday, they said.

Enraged by the incident, some people placed the body on the road and staged a protest, blocking the Morna-Jansath road, Station House Officer (SHO) Vijay Bahadur Singh said.

At Least 20 Killed In Train, Bus Collision In Pakistan: Officials

A horrific collision between a speeding train and a passenger bus killed at least 20 people and left scores injured near the Rohri railway station in Pakistan's southern Sindh province on Friday night.

Sukkur Commissioner Shafiq Ahmed Mahesar confirmed that at least 20 people died in the incident, adding that the casualties could rise as the condition of several of the injured was critical.

"We have shifted at least 60 injured people to hospitals in Rohri and Sukkur," he said.

The accident took place at the unmanned Kandhra railway crossing, near the Rohri railway station, when the 45 Up Pakistan Express train that was coming from Rawalpindi towards Karachi collided with a passenger bus.

China Reports 47 More Coronavirus Deaths

China on Saturday reported 47 more deaths from the new coronavirus, raising the death toll in the country to 2,835.

The National Health Commission also tallied 427 new cases, an increase from the previous day, bringing the total number of infections to 79,251.

One person died in Beijing and another in Henan province, while 45 died in Hubei.

All but four of the new cases were in Hubei, and 420 were in its capital, Wuhan, where the virus is believed to have originated in a market that sold wild animals.
