Kamal Haasan, one of the biggest stars of the south does not accept the vote of confidence won by Edappadi Palanisami in the Tamil Nadu assembly. "The emotion(s) on streets denote something else," he told NDTV in an exclusive interview.
He deemed Sasikala's family, who chose Mr Palaniswami as Chief Minister after her conviction in a corruption case, a “criminal conglomerate".
AIADMK's Twitter handle celebrated with "#TNSaved". Mr Haasan's and colleagues in the industry Arvind Swamy and Siddharth, voiced their concern.
Fellow actor Siddharth echoed Haasan’s sentiment by predicting that Palaniswami would be “remote controlled” by a locked-up Sasikala. He told NDTV:
After several disruptions and even a broken chair, 88 DMK legislators and eight Congress law makers, walked out in protest of a trust vote held in Tamil Nadu’s state assembly on Saturday. Out of the remaining 133 MLAs, O Panneerselvam was defeated by 122 votes to 11.
