Accusing the Modi government of running a "ghotala (scam) raj" in the country, a group of protesters, headed by Supreme Court advocate Prashant Bhushan, former AAP member Yogendra Yadav and late Arunachal CM Kalikho Pul's wife Dangwimsai Pul, marched to Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday.
Speaking exclusively to The Quint, Dangwimsai Pul said that her husband's suicide note has serious charges against top-ranking members of the judiciary and thus merited a thorough probe by a Special Investigation Team.
Prashant Bhushan, who had appeared as advocate in the Supreme Court in a case pertaining to the so-called Sahara-Birla diaries, said:
CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat also joined the protest, and shared the stage with Yadav, Bhushan and Dangwimsai Pul.
The Quint caught up with Yogendra Yadav after the march. Listen in to the Swaraj Abhiyan leader’s demands.
The protesters used satire to take a dig at PM Narendra Modi. A 'leader' atop the 'Ghotala Rath Yatra' answered questions on probity from the crowd, by saying that he was both the accused and the investigator, but that people need not worry!
