JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi Faces Arrest, Goes Into Hiding

Her suspension came after her son Rocky Yadav was arrested for allegedly killing a 20-year-old.

A day after her son was arrested, Rocky Yadav’s mother and JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi went into hiding after an arrest warrant was issued against her for possession of liquor in her Gaya residence, reports The Hindu. Bihar is a dry state and possession of liquor can lead to a fine of Rs 10 lakh and jail for 10 years. Her cook has also been detained by the Bihar police, reports ANI.

Manorama Devi’s son Rocky Yadav was arrested on Tuesday on charges of killing 20-year-old Aditya Sachdeva in an incident of road rage. He was later sent to 14-day judicial custody along with his father Binny Yadav. Devi was also suspended from the party following their arrest.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Garima Yadav, Rocky has confessed to the crime and others involved in the crime would soon be arrested. Police claimed that the pistol used in the killing of Aditya Sachdeva has also been recovered, along with liquor, from the accused.
