The Congress government in Uttarakhand is heading towards a political crisis with the senior members of the party rebelling against Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
With BJP opposition leaders wanting to topple Harish Rawat with the help of rebel Congress leaders including former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Vijay Bahugana, the political situation is strikingly similar to the recent political situation in Arunachal Pradesh.
The BJP claims to have the support of 12 rebel Congress leaders in a House of 70 members.
According to IBNLive, sources said when the Uttarakhand Assembly gathers to pass the state budget bill, the BJP will attempt to cast negative votes, which is when President’s rule is likely to be imposed as the state government would be in minority.
