In the annual India Today Mood of the Nation poll, 53 percent of the respondents said Modi is best suited to become the next Prime Minister, while 22 percent found Congress president Rahul Gandhi ideal for the top post, ahead of the upcoming 2019 General Elections.
Among those who polled, 28 percent also declared Modi as the best Prime Minister since independence. Shortly lagging behind him was Indira Gandhi at 20 percent and Atal Bihari Vajpayee at 10 percent.
Among those that India wants to see as the next Prime Minister, Priyanka Gandhi made it to the third position (4 percent), followed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, at 3 percent, while only 1 percent wanted to see BSP chief Mayawati as the PM.
On EVMs being vulnerable to hacking, 42 percent respondents said that they believed the EVMs can be hacked, while 44 percent showed faith in the polling machines.
