India Today-Axis Predicts Repeat of 2015, Above 60 Seats for AAP

The numbers suggest that AAP might end up replicating or even bettering its 2015 tally of 67 seats.

Hours after voting got over for Assembly elections in Delhi, exit polls conducted by India Today-Axis My India on Saturday, 8 February, predicted a landslide victory for the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The exit poll, which revealed the numbers in a phased manner, predicted AAP winning across the seven Lok Sabha seats that constitute Delhi’s electorate.

Out of the 70 Assembly seats, the exit poll has predicted 59-68 seats for AAP, 2-11 seats for BJP, and the Congress drawing a blank.

The numbers suggest that if AAP manages to touch the survey’s upper limit, it will end up bettering its 2015 tally of 67 seats.

In fact, exit polls conducted by other agencies have predicted comfortable majorities for the AAP as well.

According to the Election Commission, 56.93 percent voter turnout was recorded till 7 pm.

Addressing the media, the Election Commission said the election was conducted very peacefully, adding that at some polling stations, voting was still going on.
