With Haryana Assembly election around the corner, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar stirred a fresh controversy by calling Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi a ‘dead mouse’ while targeting the party for indulging in dynasty politics.
Campaigning in Haryana’s Sonipat, Manohar Lal Khattar said, “After the defeat in the Lok Sabha election, Rahul Gandhi quit as the party president and said the new Congress chief would not be from the Gandhi family and we welcomed his decision. It is good to end dynasty politics.”
Hitting back at the Haryana Chief Minister, Maharashtra Congress working president, Nitin Raut said, “ Haryana CM isn't Khattar but a khacchar.” He further added that Khattar should make such comments about Prime Minister Modi.
The Congress party has also demanded an apology from the Haryana Chief Minister.
Taking accountability of the Congress’ loss in the Lok Sabha election, Rahul Gandhi had earlier resigned from the post of the Congress president.
Haryana is set to go to polls on 21 October and the results will be declared on 24 October.
