AgustaWestland in the Rajya Sabha

After a heated discussion in the Rajya Sabha over the AgustaWestland chopper scam, Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till 12.00 pm.

BJP’s Bhupender Yadav moved a privilege motion against Leader of Opposition in Parliament Ghulam Nabi Azad for saying that there is a deal between the Indian Prime Minister and Italian President to implicate Sonia Gandhi.

We are ready to place all facts before the house. Defence Minister already made statement about the same. There is no reason for the Congress party to gherao the Parliament unless they want to divert the issue as it happened during their regime.

Congress will raise the National Entrance and Eligibility Test (NEET) issue in Lok Sabha.

Financial business will dominate the government’s agenda in Parliament from Monday. Despite the row over imposition of President’s Rule in Uttarakhand and alleged pay-offs in AgustaWestland Case, seven bills have been passed in the first week.

The coming week will witness discussions on demands for grants. Only 10 days of the session remain, which comes to an end on 13 May, and the working of eight ministries remains to be discussed.

Discussion on Demands for Grants and working of identified ministries besides consideration and passing of the Appropriation and Finance Bill in respect of the General Budget for 2016-17 constitute the main agenda for the second week of the second Budget session of Parliament beginning Monday.
Official Statement

In the Lok Sabha, discussion on Demand for Grants of the Ministry of Social Justice will resume before the same is voted upon.

The House will do the same with respect to the Ministries of Civil Aviation and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation before Demands for Grants of other ministries are guillotined.

Thereafter, the Appropriation (No 2) Bill, 2016 and The Finance Bill, 2016 will be taken up for consideration and passing.

Regarding other legislative business, the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Bill, 2015 will be taken up in the Lok Sabha.
