It’s a setback for the aam Aadmi Party in Delhi as a Delhi court has ruled that Law Minister Jitender Tomar has been sent to police custody for four days.

Tomar was booked under IPC section 471 for cheating, forgery and acquiring job on a fake degree.

Delhi police has claimed that one team of officers were sent to Awadh university to verify the degree and found that it was a fake.

AAP leader Ashutosh has said that they respect the ruling of the court but will challenge the order as procedure permits them. He also said that the court questioned the Delhi police as to why Tomar was arrested when he was cooperating with the probe.

Ashutosh accused the Delhi police of following the diktats of the Narendra Modi government.
