DDCA has now decided to file a defamation case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad.

DDCA Treasurer Ravinder Manchanda has said cases will be filed against anyone who makes baseless allegations.

The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has levelled several allegations against the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) in the past week.

The allegations were of demanding a bribe from players during selection and even that one of the DDCA officers sought sex for favours. The DDCA has now responded to such allegations, calling them grave but completely baseless.

DDCA Vice President Chetan Chauhan held a press conference on Wednesday to counter allegations made by the Delhi government. Chauhan said,

The charges made yesterday against the DDCA are wild. I want to responsibly clarify that we did not receive any complaints (over officers demanding bribes).

Chauhan also said that any person with such complaints is free to approach any member of the DDCA whom they trust and file a complaint.

Chauhan also clarified that the DDCA has responded to all requests for information made by investigating agencies and provided them with whatever details were sought. He also said that the DDCA had responded to the CBI’s questionnaire.

He categorically denied the allegation that at least one DDCA officer had sought sex for favours.

Chauhan said, “Such statements are made only to gain points. They are completely baseless”.
